Hollywood

Hollywoodholimage, the Myth

Everybody comes to Hollywood, they wanna make it in the neighborhood”, sings Madonna. Hollywood attracted, and still does, people from throughout the world. Coincidence? I don't think so! It's not just about fame or glamor or whatever! It's just instinct! It's you're nothing unless you're part of Hollywood. Every actor/actress has dreamed, at least once, of: coming out of that drop-dead classy limo with the largest smile possible drown upon the face, wandering gracefully on that red carpet looking like a supermodel , looking like James Bond in that hot tuxedo, looking like Marilyn Monroe in that fancy dress, posing proudly to be photographed by both amateur and professional photographs, giving humbly numerous autographs for outrageous fans, promoting for a movie as if it was a precious diamond, committed and fighting for noble causes such as human rights, committed and fighting against hazardous phenomena like global warming,..

Everybody wants to be somebody. But every somebody wants to be something! The funny thing about that is: we're human and we want to be things! Though, it is totally explicable: We want to be IT! Not just somebody or something but IT! IT like the “star”, the “unique”, “the one”,.. Hollywood makes people be IT. It's like magic and it's, exclusively, Hollywood's!

Well Aziz, it seems, as you said, you didn't get my point of view. Honestly it's startin' to be annoying to be "ungettable" no matter how I try to italicize words and put them in bold sometimes! Thanks for the info, though. 'cause even thoufh you didn't really get what I'm really targin' at it's always a pleasure to hear that interesting stuff you're sayin'. Anyway, "propaganda" it's you're fav', isn't it?

Salim... I didn't understand your personal opinion about the matter. As for me, I can just call it "Propaganda". Media show us images, images that attract our libido that grows frustrated unless we dive into the consumption fever. All is done to make people think they're nothing themeselves, meantime, the glory of those stars grows up picture after picture. Huge amounts of money are spent in the thing, and that's a pity!!!
