Martin PARR - A very British Photographer

I know that this is supposed to be the students' wall but from time to time I'll post things that interest me and I think might interest you.

I think I've already seen some pictures of him extracted from "Think of England" in the Tate Modern in London, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, this is the kind of photographer I admire. He is able to take a picture of any detail of what seems to be common life but which in fact is something incredible or ridiculous. He always takes the good photo at the right time, and we can feel his point of view thanks to the way the picture is taken, on what detail it is focused. In addition, the light gives the impression of looking at an old photo album.

Aziz, Martin Parr does both. Most of his photos are taken spontaneously but in a series of shots entitled " Bored Couples" he actually asked people to pose - including himself & his wife!

The pictures we're allowed to watch are just amazing. In most of them moments of life are like frozen: joy, sadness, conversations, thoughtfulness... I wonder if all of them are just taken spontaneously or did the photographer manage "some acting" in some pictures.
